Tama’s professional Tuesday!
Our weekly tip from The Bale Doctor:
The netwrap should always be on the OUTSIDE of the bale, otherwise it cannot fully hold the crop…
If not, the bale will swell and probably burst, either due to the outer layer being damaged, or the from the lack of layers on the outside not being sufficient to contain the entire bale. The solution is to USE THE BREAKS!
Stop moving before the netwrap begins to feed, otherwise the bale continues being formed and the net ends up embedded inside the crop.

Tama’s professional Tuesday!
Our weekly tip from The Bale Doctor:
Often, the first 10 – 20m of twine from a spool looks un-even and crimped. This is quite normal and a characteristic of the way that twine is made and spooled before packaging. When tensioned, the twine straightens out.
On its path to the knotting mechanism, the twine is tensioned with spring clamps in the twine box and twine brakes immediately before the knotter, which require a specific tension setting. When correctly tensioned, the kinked twine does not cause a problem.
